About Gabriele Rausse:
Warm and funny and full of stories, Gabriele Rausse, regarded as “the Father of Virginia wine,” didn’t just earn his honorific, he shaped it, with his hands-on involvement in over 100 vineyards and wineries across the state. From founding Barboursville Vineyards to planting what is now Jefferson Vineyards, and eventually establishing his own Gabriele Rausse Winery, his journey is as rich and flavorful as his wines.
September 13th from 4 PM - 5:30 PM: Bottle Signing and Meet & Greet
September 14th at 6 PM: Chef-Driven Wine Dinner with Gabriele Rausse
About Lucie Morton
Wise and witty, Lucie Morton is infinitely curious. For example, one of Lucie's current investigations: how did Europe save the American Cunningham grape, and how do we get it back? Stay tuned!
As one of the world’s foremost ampelographers - the science of identifying grapes by their leaf structures - Lucie’s awards and recognition are numerous. Her most recent is the Virginia Women in Wine Trailblazer Award. In her latest adventure, she will be playing herself as “the Grape Sleuth” in the film “Odyssey of Forbidden Wines – exile and return of American grapes.”
October 11th from 4 PM - 5:30 PM: Bottle Signing and Meet & Greet
October 12th at 6 PM: Chef-Driven Wine Dinner with Lucie Morton featuring a silent auction where the winner will be mentioned in the acknowledgments in Lucie's latest film - The Odyssey of the Forbidden Wine.
About Jim Law:
You’d think after nearly 40 years of tending to the grapes at Linden Vineyards, owner/winegrower Jim Law would be content to leave the vineyard work to others while he enjoys his accolades as one of the most knowledgeable growers in the East, and the biggest contributor to Virginia grapes’ historical records. But nothing could be further from the truth.
Enjoy this rare opportunity to meet Jim and hear him talk about Virginia wine’s evolution as he leads a fabulous vertical AND horizontal tasting of Linden’s wines over the years.
AND...the VIRGINIA WINE EXPERIENCE celebrates its third anniversary the same weekend! Each year, the Experience brings together wineries from around the state to celebrate Virginia’s growing wine renown, and features meet n’ greets, fun wine workshops, and a gala wine dinner with all the participating wineries.
